This looks amazing. I read many of the blog entries, and Aaron's analysis & interpretations of these games is fascinating. I want to order it for my college library!

Looking forward to this and I will definitely be buying. Is there any way to incorporate the "supplemental book" into the main book at the higher tier? I tend to keep books like this on a coffee table rather than a book case. Also, I'm hoping there's some supplemental content on other Infocom titles which were pretty influential like Deadline, Witness, Suspect, Lurking Horror...
The supplement came about in part because the main book was already getting dangerously long and starting to cause various issues with shipping/production/etc! Splitting it out will help lower costs for the main volume and also makes for a nice bonus perk. Not ready to announce the full list of contents yet, but don't expect *massive* amounts of new material: the supplement will be about sixty pages, or roughly an additional 10% of material.
Niiice! I can't wait! But I'm sure we're all wondering... the "supplemental book in a custom slipcase [with] conditional articles on additional games (including fan-favorites)" will be available, maybe with an extra charge, for PDF subscribers as well? I'd love to get a physical copy, but with shipping and customs and VAT and all, I'm afraid I'll have to go with digital only. So, I'm already afraid I'll have to do without Planetfall!
The extra material is planned as an exclusive perk for the Collector's Edition tier or higher, but it will be available digitally to those backers as well as in the print book. I do hear the concern re: international shipping, it's definitely a huge issue for small creators right now. I'll have some more details to share about international shipping soon, but I can say that it might be a little cheaper than you'll expect-- I've seen some campaigns charging $50, $60, $70 dollars to ship a book outside the US, presumably because they're hedging their bets against a bad guess. I'll be doing shipping a little differently: basically you won't pay for it until it's time for the books to be delivered, and then you'll be charged the exact amount for order fulfillment + shipping to your country at that time. Combined with working with a professional fulfillment center that gets bulk rates, I'm hoping this will mean somewhat less outrageous international shipping costs.
They'll be hardback only by nature: the bonus book with the Collector's Edition is designed to fit inside its slipcase with the main volume, for instance.

So 60 pages of Infocom? Sounds fantastic! :-)
I'm very excited to re-read the series in print form!
Thanks Chris! I think in many ways it'll be a superior way to experience it. =)

Incredible. It deserves to be a best seller. Can't wait! I also hope there is also a new edition of Creating With Inform 7. Thank you.
Will Collectors and Deluxe Collectors editions be available in paperback or only hardback?
