It makes me happy that you have put a lot of thought into the info design and typography. I'd really like a precious book with great binding and paper akin to the Folio Society books.
Thanks, it's important to me too! I don't think it's going to quite reach Folio Society levels (a 600 page book to their level of standards would probably require taking out a small loan to acquire) but I'm confident it's going to look and feel great.
I only look at my Folio Society books because I'm afraid of damaging them! Since I want to read this book, it is probably best that it is relatively affordable.
I'll definitely be in for at least the digital copy, and possibly the hardbound book, since it's clear you're really putting a strong effort into it. I love beautiful books.
Oh, wow! I actually never played it but I remember seeing it in a catalog as a kid with limited allowance money and DESPERATELY wanting it ;)
Sadly it's not in the book, although you're in good company: there are 11,634 games listed on the Interactive Fiction Database, which means 11,584 of them didn't make the cut...
I'm really excited for the book! I hope there will be some option to purchase other than Kickstarter. I don't know if you might consider Unbound or any of the other crowdfunding platforms as an alternative.
Thanks, and I appreciate the concern. My previous crowdfunding campaign was through Indiegogo because I had concerns at the time about Kickstarter's unionization position. Unfortunately, according to traffic metrics Indiegogo proved far less effective at discoverability and driving traffic to the project than Kickstarter had been on my earlier projects. Despite their issues, they're really good at getting the word out to backers of similar projects about other campaigns they might like, and that's absolutely vital in the attention economy.
I'm concerned about Kickstarter's plans to move to the blockchain, which sound to me half-baked at best and possibly actively harmful. Until they actually move away from their current model, though, I believe they're still the best option for me in a campaign like this where discoverability is key.
I'm hoping there will be pre-orders for the book and long-tail plans for it to stay available after the crowdfunding campaign, but that will depend on whether I can raise the funds to do the initial printing.
Also, please consider another edition of Creating with I7. Possibly after Prof. Graham publishes the new version (Narrascope 2022?)?
I would really like to do this! Possibly it will be my next book project.

Thanks Ray! I think it'll be worth the wait.
I really like it
I will spread the world of fediverse (mastodon and friends) and twitter and my gamers communities
Much appreciated!
Very much looking forward to this text. Thank you.
Thanks Jeff! I'm hoping it will live up to expectations. =)
Hi, there! Do you have my IF, Star Trek: The Promethean Prophecy, in there? ;)
Oh, wow! I actually never played it but I remember seeing it in a catalog as a kid with limited allowance money and DESPERATELY wanting it ;)
